Facebook Giveaway!!

I have been trying to find a way to start doing some giveaways and thanks to La Ubertina Crafts I found the perfect way to plunge in. I was at 71 like yesterday at 11:00am and now I am at 86 likes. I am so excited I think that by the end of the week I will have my 100 likes. I want to have a month or every two month or something like that but I see that this is a great way to get myself out there.

 

I am hoping that I might get some idea from you all as to some stuff that I can do or try. I don't want to just be giving things away and not getting to sell anything. I hope this will be the thing I need to kick the door down and have my first Etsy sale and just have it catch on from there.

 

I am really glad that I am meeting such great people that are willing to help and support. I have so many plans and really want to be working from home to be here for my dad so I have to give it my all. Times are hard but I know that something great must be just around the corner if all this is happening. God does not take a way to leave you empty handed it takes it away to open your hands for something bigger!

 

Please send me any ideas that would be so so great! I need to work on more things guys can use any ideas would be appreciated. I am working on some cuff links I just hope they are not to big.

When life gives you lemons make lemonade!

Seems life is on a quest to give me noting but lemons and I am so over making my bitter face! I have got my lemon squeezer (Cuz they make them in that size now! ;) and I am going to have some tequila with lemonade! Might as well enjoy all the free lemons. There is still so much to do and last night was a bit of a bust but my Dad is much closer to have his room set up the way he likes and really family is what matters most. I did happen to get some things painted to have a few more bobby pins tonight some rings and I have to work on some mirror. Not to mention the rosaries and clutches I have to start on and I want to get my shirts done nothing like waiting for the last minute but this is going to be a thing of the past. I see what I want for my future and right now I am the only thing holding me back.

Time to get serious!

So much to do and so little time but I think that this workshop from La Crafty Chica is going to open a whole new world for me. There is so much I learned from 10 minutes of a 30 minute class. Not going to have the time to finish the class this week have so much to do.

But in those 10 minutes I see that my blog is a vital part to have success in my business. I am new at blogging and have been pretty intimidated by it, but it is a fear I have to get over I am so ready to make my business sore I just have to make sure I manage my time. Gothic/Dark

Last week I was on a mission to buy some labels and tags to get my product branding underway. I send a message with my logo to a vendor and they responded back with they do not do Gothic or dark work.
I understand we all have the right to refuse services, but I think that they should do a little more research before they assume something that has nothing to do with the meaning of someones beliefs. A Sugar Skull is not Gothic or dark it is a part of my Mexican culture. It is a way for us to show respect and love to our family members, and friends who have passed away. It is a religious holiday in some areas of Mexican culture, where we pray for the souls of our loved ones and we remember them with stories and making their favorite foods as well as visiting their graves and going to church.

What to Blog about?

This is only my second day and I am trying to figure out in what direction I want this blog to go. I have read a few things on what I should write about since this blog is linked to my shop, but it just does not fit who I am. I don't want to find a topic research it and then create a blog on that. Who really has the time to do that? I have a full time job, come home cook, make sure my daughter is squared away ,go to my daily Zumba class, and work on my art. I need to sleep at some point in the day.

So I came to the conclusion that I am going to take about what I named the blog. La Vida de La Chica Boutique (The life of La Chica Boutique for those of you who do not understand :).

Was feeling really under the weather today so I stayed home from work. But I did go to Michael's to get a few things for my mom's 60th and for what I need to finally get my stuff up this weekend. I am so scared and so excited all rolled into one! Guess we are going to have to what and see what happens. :)

First Day!

It is official I am now blogging not sure how that is going to go since I am not good at  writing but we have to do what we have to do. I am actually very excited about this. It is the being of what I hope is going to be the start of a great business that will help me be self employed for many years to come. I opened my Etsy Store in January and now here we are 2 days away from April with no items up. But I have to say it is a good thing I waited because I feel more prepared then January and I want to make sure that everything is the best it can be! Hope everyone will love my products a much as me! They will be up this weekend! Woot Woot! :)
